Boston Trip - Day 2 and 3

Day 2
Today, we got 3 main places to visit. Firstly, is the New England Aquarium. The aquarium does not occupy much space, but it nicely stack up into several floors. The moment you step into the building, you are greeted by the lovely cute penguins.
Ice craft outside the building

Lovely penguins

Next, we went to Museum of Science. It is a combination of museum and a science centre. For my opinion, it is fun, just that we were running out of time, we just spend little time on it. On that time, it had the Harry Potter movie props exhibition. No money and no time, we forget about the plan.

Remember this prop? Ron was riding it in the first Harry Potter movie, in the wizard chess game

The main purpose of this trip, is to watch the NBA match. That night, Boston Celtic vs Atlanta Hawks, in TD Garden. The atmosphere was so cool and I really enjoy the game.

NBA Basketball Match

Final score, Boston Celtic lose =(

Yup, I am in TD Garden

Day 3
Our unexpected final day, as we though we suppose to work on that day. We decided to spend that day walking around MIT which we missed. Yup, after Harvard, it is MIT which is just beside Harvard University. MIT, the leading engineering university in the world.
This make you afraid?

MIT is so grand. It is just like a Greece building

Thoughts:
Boston is surely fun. With sports, food, academic, science and arts, she sure has everything. The public transport is nicely plan and well schedule.

Next:
Chinese New Year is coming, and my friends and I will be visiting the leading global city in the world: NEW YORK. Besides, my working period is coming to an end, and we are planning to 4 of the famous places in USA

Boston Trip - Day 1

It had been a week a came back from Boston. Due to the sucky internet connection and a little bit of laziness, I wasn't able to upload these photos:

DAY 1
Day 1 in Boston. After having experience of last trip to Boston, we manage to cover more places in this trip.

We found a city tour package in Quicy Market, with each of us USD33 for two days transport. However, this transport limited us to 4pm of that day. Thus, we also got a 7 days pass using the MBTA subways and buses.
Using the city tour trolley, we came to our 1st stop, which is the USS Constitution Museum. This is Americans' oldest commissioned ship which has now retired, and only bought to sea 7 times in a year.

On the USS Constitution
Funny way to vote har?
Next stop is Fenway Park. In US, 3 sports are the most popular here. Basketball, baseball and ice hockey. Fenway Park serves as the stadium for RedSox team to home their baseball game in the league. We joined a guided tour, although i am not a baseball fan, i was enjoyed by how crazy some people can be over this sports game.
In front of Fenway Park
Next stop, is Harvard University. Yes, you didn't see wrongly, it is Harvard, one of the top university in the world. Harvard University in a place call Cambridge. So next time, when people tell you that Harvard is in Cambridge, he is right. It was rather tricky when we reach Harvard though. Trying to find the main gate for the university, it turns out that a small tiny door, which is not easily noticeable that IT IS THE MAIN GATE FOR THIS TOP UNIVERSITY. However, in the school campus, you will find Sir Harvard Statue in it. The buildings in the university are grand and I was impressed with the amazing building architecture and craft work of it. It had around 370 years of history!! Especially, the library which is big and beutiful, which is also the world largest acedemic library.
In Harvard University
That night, we had our dinner back in Chinatown, where we found our beloved Malaysian cuisine.
Curry Ayam with rice!!! But not as good as expected

New Year 2010

It is new year and some plan is certainly going on for the year

  1. Find a job -- Yup, I had graduated and I am jobless at the same time. To shorten this weird period, where I am neither a student nor a labor, guess that I need to get myself employed. Hope that I can get the job in my mind. Resumes and letters will be sent soon.
  2. Travel to some places with friends -- Due to the fact that it is no longer easier for us to arrange time together, I hope that I can at least travel to ONE place with friends. Not just a lunch or dinner gathering. Some site seeing or adventurous trip will do. People who see this, contact me please.
  3. Read 3 books -- Coincidently, one friend of mine had the same plan. However, for me, any books will be fine. Doing so is because I don't want to be JUST an engineer. Who knows maybe Jian Wei can talk about economics or psychology with you?? Lol

Good luck for everyone on 2010...

Some Pictures Upload

It had been around 1 week i did not update my blog. Some interesting events took place.

19 Dec 2009
A snow storm reached Falmouth and it was the first time seeing snow cover a place right in front of my eyes. People who follow news should know that a snow storm move from the west coast to the east coast, bring snow to USA. Although i seen snow before back in Australia, it is totally different as the snow there are mostly man made. This is certainly naturally made.

My friends and I who are like "sua gu" to the angmoh play in the snow the night snow fall. We even made a snow man with it. See!
Due to the storm, Falmouth received a 7 inches thick of snow the next day and most of the shops were closed. Public transport was out of services and initially we planned to go to Boston on that day and we had to pospone our trip. Rottern luck.

The town was covered with snow. It took one week for the snow to melt. This picture was taken few steps away from the door.

21 Dec 2009
Due to the snow, our Boston trip was cut to one day long. Boston is a nice place. I like the public transport as it covered most trips that we want to go. We are planning another Boston trip on 10 Jan 2010 to discover more about the city. The main purpose for this trip is to SHOP as christmas is around the corner and there are sales, saLES, SALES going around. We fully utilised the public transport there with a daily public transport pass.

Boston public transport is nicely coverage. But it is old and dirty. However, it is much better the public transport back in hometown.
Watching NBA in the next Boston trip, and going to Harvard Uni and MIT too. Looking forward.
25 Dec 2009
Today is Christmas. The night before that I had to do the dishes in McD as I was in charged to close the shop. It is rather fun though as I am my friends were doing the dishes together. We talked and we laughed, and that is what I called B-U-D-D-Y.
It is a white christmas as the place is still covered with snow. All shops are closed and luckily we had stocked up our food supply. Walking around the town, which is cold, the shops windows are rather interesting. Decoration at the entrance of the town were interesting too. Too bad, no one invite us for their christmas dinner.
We had chinese buffet in a restaurant (only asians are hardworking enough to work on that day) and it was USD12. We missed malaysian food.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

31 Dec 2009
The night before new year, again, we were in charged to wash the dishes. Helping each other, we manage to finish washing the dishes faster than the other time. That night, we went to an Irish bar and the beer is nice. Everyone in the bar is crazy and high but we did not stay until new year in that bar. Everyone is looking at us maybe due to the black hair on top of us. We feel uneasy. So we changed to a nearer bar to the place we stayed. It was more quiet there but at least we were not being watch like an extinct animal.
3-2-1... HAPPY NEW YEAR
