i'm lovin' it

As promised, let me describe my work and the place I work:

Currently, I am working in on of the branch of McD in USA. In a town called Falmouth. McD is quite common in US people's life. Remember, there was one day, my friends and I saw an old granny hand shaking, putting a burger into her mouth, drinking soft drinks. I believe you don't see this often as old people are rather scare of diabetes.

Different from Malaysia, there exist a drink fountain in the store. Means that you can get a cup and unlimitedly refill soft drinks that you like. There are more variety of soft drinks than in Malaysia. Besides, there are more variety of burgers in US. But remember, McD in USA is non-halal. Hope that explain why there are more variety of burgers.

The manager is a nice guy. He is kind of funny and friendly. So far, I will say. Other workers complained about him behind him, but I believe he treated us better as we are just student. Most of my colleagues are Brazilian and they always speak Portugese. Perhaps, they speak something ill behind us, which we dun understand. Never mind, we do speak Malay. But anyway, most of them are pretty nice. Sometimes, there is communication breakdown, as they are not fluence in speaking English.

Working in McD, so far I tried making sandwiches and frying french fries. Making burger is stressful as they have a lot of requirement. Some customer dun want pickle, some want extra; some dun want ketchap, some want only ketchap. Quite picky compare to Malaysian. Of course, there are some cleaning job which included dish washing, sweeping, mopping and washing. Besides, working as cashier is a challeging as their coins and money are not easy to deal with. Firstly, all paper notes have the same color and size. Unlike Malaysia, red is RM10, green is RM5, and blue is RM1. Sometimes, will carelessly mistaken as another bill. So need be be more careful when handling the money. For coins, they have coins called quarter dollar, which is 25 sen. It is rather hard to count with this number. Worstly, this coin has almost the same size as nickel, which is 5sen.

And my uniform, different from Malaysia which is orange color with a weird hat, mine is a blue shirt and a black trousers with a cap. Simple. Below is a picture of my friend and I in uniform.

2nd Week In USA

In USA for 2 weeks edy, and there are some interesting things happened the past week

• Opened a bank account and everything is fine. The ATM is user friendly, but i can't stand the delay from it. The tellers are unhelpful and there is no request counter. So lost in the bank.
• Use the public transport in USA to get to a mall during my off day. The bus was kind of scary as the people in the were youngster that looks like lala and there is alchoholic too
• The shopping mall in Hyannis is kinda small, nothing much interesting.
• Christmas is near and the shop windows are decorated. Sales are everywhere and I bought myself a levi's jeans for USD30
• The weather is turning cold and it started to snow the night before yesterday.
• That day, I started work at 6am. An old man came to me and asked whether I am fro China. He told me that he was rescued by the Chinese during WWII in China after shot by the Japanese. The Chinese brought him 40 something miles away to save him. What a story to tell the grandson.
• Had our Asian meal in US and it is not that expensive. Luckily...
• Yesterday there is a parade in town, and I missed it. I was working at that time. sigh. Anyway, this parade is organised for the high school students in the town, and everyone took their chairs and sit beside the road. Interesting.

Black Friday

Yesterday was Black Friday, which is a day after Thanks Giving Day. This day is special as people will wake up early for shopping.

Woke up at 2:45am yesterday, we took a 30 min walk to a shopping mart: Walmart. It is like those hypermarket back home, but more emphasizes on hardware than food. My friends and I went there planning to get a bike, and some of them want electronics stuff which are really cheaper back home.

We reach Walmart around 3:30am and there is already a long queue in front of the mart. Workers are distributing maps of the mart, hoping that people know where to head when the shop open. Those discounted products are not place as they were normally placed.

At 4am, the shop open, People running in the mall to get the stuff they want. Most of them want TVs and laptops. Some other devices like Wii, PSP, PS3, Guitar Hero are just like a fan, or a rice cooker for them, place on shelf. American's are really pampered with all these video games.

After getting a bike, we also plan to get a kettle. To boil water of course. Asking a senior shop assistance, around 60 years old man, where the kettles are located, he answered: " I had not seen an electrical kettle since this mart is established. Let me check, " Of course, we can't find one in the end.

Around 6am, we had to go back since I had to work around 11.30am on that day itself.

ThanksGiving

It is thanksgiving today, and my friends and I really learn the meaning of thanksgiving.



Early morning, we decided to move to a motel nearer to out working place. It took us few minutes to decide to move to the new place. Around 11am, we told our current motel owner that we want to move out and what we received from her is: @!%* f*ck



Reach our new motel and trying to settle down. Marcus gave a call, saying that the previous motel lady warned us that the place is not safe. We ignored that advice and we thought that it might be the lady tried to be nasty. Only then, two of our friends who reach later tell us something serious.



"Just now, we ask the taxi driver about the motel. The taxi driver thought for 5 sec and answered: it is not safe to stay there.



This place is full of drug addicts and the cops will come once in two day."



Looking around the room, realised that the door lock is spoilt. It seems that someone really tried to break in the room before. Thinking back, there are a lot of CCTV around the motel. If it is safe, why do they need that much of CCTV? My friends said that the street lights are off at night.



"So, shall we go back to the previous one?" said Marcus.



No one object.



Lesson of the story: Appreciate what we had

Yesterday, in our restaurant, our boss treated us a thanksgiving dinner.

There are roast turkey, rice (for quite a long time i hadn't consume rice), squash soup, mash potatoes, stuffing, apple crumbler etc. Nice... Roast turkey is a bit dissapointing but the rice is nice and fragrant.


That's my first thanksgiving dinner.

1 Week in USA

It had been a week I had arrived in USA, and everything is fine... so far

Upon arriving USA, we need to take a 20-hour flight, and it was a horrible experience. Of course, the 20-hours of flight does not include transit time to wait for the next flight. This time, different from Australia, I decided t have things light.

My baggage

Okay, I know, the baggage is still not light enough. But compare to others, mine i considered light edy. The first transit was to Singapore Changi Airport. It is a nice airport and well equipped with facilities. And the most important, it is FREE!!

Next transit is in Tokyo Japan Airport, Narita Airport. I like the airport, as the shops are interesting. Of course, there are some kawaai lenglui walking around!!

The shops in airport are full of interesting stuff. The shop that caught my interest the most is the paper folding art museum.Cute and colorful products

Next, we had a stop in Chicago, where Michael Jordan served for the basketball team there. He is a legend.

And, we finally reach Boston. It was very cold there and made me reminded of australia weather

Since we reached boston pretty late, we spent one night in Boston before to Falmouth, the town that I suppose to go one the next day

I had started working the passed few days, and I will talk about it in the next post. Currently, my friends and I are staying in a motel, and we tried our best to find some other place to stay. We hope to find a cosy house, which is nearer to our working place. (walking 20 min in the cold is driving me crazy currently). Hopefully we can get a nicer place to stay by next week.

Thanksgiving day is coming, and I hope I dun miss anything interesting that Americans do.

The Night Before My Flight

Tomorrow I will take a plane, heading to Singapore, then Tokyo, followed by Chicago, before reaching Boston. I will spend my first night in USA in there, and will take a bus to Falmouth where I will be working at.

I bought a new camera, and hopefully i can use the camera well enough and expressed what I wanted to share with everyone nice enough.

Hope I have a nice trip. As interesting as my Australia trip

Nervous

3 more days and I will be on my way to USA

I feel very nervous now as this is very different from last time I went to Australia:

1. Last time, I went to Australia to study. This time, I am going USA to work. Work in McD
2. I have no idea what kind of place am I going. Unlike last time, I know I will be in around the university
3. This time, in a group of 4, we are going USA and that's it. Unlike last time, a much bigger group is going and I had friends (liping example) in Australia
4. I have no friend and family in USA
5. I had to arrange transportation and accomodation myself. Unlike last time, I still can stay in halls and Monash provide transportation for us to reach the campus
6. I never stay at a place that snow. Totally winter. Unlike Australia that just being cold and rainy during winter days.
7. My first time working as a cook/casher/order taker
8. H1N1 in USA.
9. I hope i understand their english ascent. I hope they understand my english too.
10. Hope my employer is a nice person

Of course, besides packing, I believe I need to prepare mentally as well. People who know me knew that I plan everything nicely before hand. I say no to excitement and accident. Hope this time, I can train myself to deal with a new surrounding well.

The coming days, will start to pack my stuff to move out from hostel, and also prepare to go USA

Next, will get a new camera to replace my previously losed one

2 More Papers

Busy with my last 2 papers in Monash, and everything goes fine (I hope so).

I will be back in JB in 13 November 2009 and will start packing my stuff to go to US on 17 November 2009. Time is flying and I hope to pack everything in 3 days. What so difficult?

I will be buying a new camera since my previous one is gone. Done some survey on it and hope i can get it after exam.

Ok. Time to study...

Visa

Finally, i got my visa for US...

If everything goes well, I will be leaving to US in 2 weeks time.

It is now in exam period and I am stress with it

Yesterday met with doi and fee ling and they keep on telling me that i need to appreciate now to being a student. Yup, I know, and i am cherishing now. Doi, you are a good friend, except the part that u agree with fee ling too much.

Going for interview on wednesday for my US visa. Hopefully everything goes well.

Applied to be a tutor next semester when i can find a job during this period. wish me luck for that.

Hope my exam can be well prepared.

Week 13

It is the beginning of week 13, which means my semester is coming to an end, or precisely, my undergrad period is coming to an end



Final, my last assignment was submitted, which left my final report which i view it as my final paper for my thesis project. Report is not fun =(



Last wednesday, had my poster presentation and it was a fun one. Fun in a sense that it is another final student gathering that we just stand by the corridor and making fun of each other

updates from US: i am going to a town near boston (or 4-hours away from new york). If everything goes well, I will be flying on 17 next month

Time flies and final exam is approaching. Must get my final report done by this week to start my study. By that time, i will spend more time in lib

21 hours before final presentation

21 hours, and I will be half a leg out from the cage that caged me in to do my final project

I will be spending 20 minutes talking about my project and answer some of the questions

Hopefully my presentation is a interesting one and I can present in a mature, firm and patient way

No Break Break

This final break in my monash stay is not a break. After school reopen, my thesis presentation will be take place, follow by a 50 pages final report and a research paper. Had be struggling to place what i did in 26 weeks into 20 minutes of presenation is like a mission impossible. But anyway, make things short and simple is the main consideration.

If you are eye sharp enough, I just change my facebook profile picture to one i took in the ball last week. I like my hairstyle that night as it was well set by some more expert guy. However, soon enough, i will be getting a haircut before the school starts again.

Final year engineering students

Applying for USA work and travel and hopefully it can be done asap. My friends and I had dragged for to long and hopefully it can be done in time. Meanwhile, typing my final report is a pain as i dunno what to put in it. Everything seems so had to put in words and my reporting skill is really really bad...

OMNet++ assignment was completed and that was a relief. However, Another NI assignment is due soon and hopefully can be done well.

Btw, my final exam ends pretty late and it is not a good news to me. Hope i dun get bored by those stuff~~

Final break in monash has no break....

Crayon ShinChan

Ok, i know is a bit late, but

I really like this comic. I also like the cartoon, no matter in chinese, malay, english or japanese... However, the author is now dead and no more funny comics from him. Hope the other two comics that i like can continue until all the mysteries are solved (Naruto and One Piece).

Shinchan is cute and "naive" in some sense. The way he treat his mum is rude but the way bond between he and his family and friends are strong. He had the strength to motive people which i wish there is one besides me...

As people grows up, we tend to said that we are getting older and older. We stop to take adventure and challenges... need to understand:

We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing (O. M. Holmes)

So, lets keep playing and never grow old... just like Shinchan who is always 5 years old...

For the coming weeks, i will be busy with my assignments!!

ECE4095: Project B
Now, I had reach the final part of my thesis project. All the bits and pieces need to be placed together. Besides, a 50-page report, a presentation, a research paper and a demostration is awaiting for me. And all need to be done in 2 weeks time

ECE4045: Network Performance
A 20marks worth assignment that will determine the pass and fail of the whole unit. Yet, I am only 5% done. Everything need to be done in 2 weeks time also

ECE4042: Communication Theory
2 more lab reports which each worth 5 marks

ECE4064: Electronic Test Technology
A 10 marks worth assignment and need to be done in 1 week time

Time is running out... Come one, no time to waste any more~~

The Tomb of Narutokyo

I always hate to wear black as it is no longer my favorite color. However, today, I attended a funeral. A sad and touch one...

In bus, although everyone was taking jokes and playing cards, deep in the heart, everyone was sad. Someone we knew is no longer beside us.

Going to Choo's hometown, Mantin, this is somewhere Hao Zhi and I went to his house to complete on of our lab project during 1st year. I remember the road where we walk to shops, I remember the shops that looks old, I remember the warung where we used to had breakfast, and the corner lot where we used to have dinner. I remember the route towards his house where a lot of dogs braking at as when we passed though and his cosy house which had a wide yard.

This is the 2nd time i came back to the place and guessed might be the last time. So much memory in there although i just stayed for 2 days. Having a chance to see his last appearing, lying in the coffin lifelessly, I can't believe that he was still jumping around in school in one week time before this. Looking at his picture, it was downloaded from facebook, and never thought that it was used for his funeral photo...

After some chanting and seeing him last look, we went to the place where the burial takes place. Sending him my last regards by putting flowers into the hole where he is buried. Saying silently: Choo, all the best in your new journey. I only able to send you until here. Tears started rolling in my eyes as I tried to control it from flowing it.

And this is how i send off my friend. A friend that I know after I left my beloved hometown JB and came to sunway, a friend that we studied MUFY together and went to the same university, a friend that help me whenever I had problems. I realised that all this while I received his helps and accompany for granted. And now, I really regret doing so...

Life still goes on, and hope that my friends and I will face the problems and difficulties coming to us with strength and courage. The tomb of Narutokyo will be placed in Nirvana Memorial Park. Just like what Kakashi flashed back what his nakama said when visit his nakama's tomb, which is the best phrase I heard so far:

In the ninja world, those who break the rules and regulations are called trash
But those who don't care about their friends are even worse than trash

Guess this is what Choo hold as his principle of life...

Sorrowfulness FaceBook

Always feel it fun to use facebook as there are many funny things going around in it. However, these days, Facebook is sorrowful as one of our friend died.

I just have a short chat with him 3 hours before the incident. I was too busy to layan him. However, now, even i want to layan him also no chance edy. We used to be close friend during MUFY time and first year. He is friendly, cheerful and helpful. Just like me, he is going to finiish the course in few weeks time. The bus stop opposite my school, I will never look at the same way again, as this is the place as my friend met an unfortunate event. When I passed this place yesterday, hot tears rolling out from my eyes. It was here, he was knocked over by a car while crossing the road with a group of friends.

The evening before his death, went to hospital to visit him. He was already in bad condition. Lying in ICU with lots of life support lifelessly expect can see him breathing. Yesterday, after lab we received the fact that he passed away.

From this incident, I learned that life is fragile and short. It applies to everyone, my own and anyone else around you. We need to treasure my friends more. Nowadays all of us are busy, and it is until a time like this, we manage to stop for a while and gather around.

Guess I will be meeting more old friends when i attending the funeral. So sad i will be meeting some old friends at a sad atmosphere.

Accident in Malsysia is really fatal. He is not just a statistic figure in the number of cases in the accidents in Malaysia table. But, to us, the friends, guess everyone will be more careful when being a road user.

I used to chat with this person quite often. Everytime, when i onlined, will never miss him online cause he usually left his laptop on for 24 hours...

Despite a course mate, he was my lab partner, my study mate, play mate and also a very nice friend.
Due to an accident, I will no longer see this friend jumping around as he used to be...

Rest In Peace, my friend... Never thought that I will be attending a friend's funeral so fast.

Come on

For quite a long time i did not update my blog as i stayed at uni until late these days, with loads of assignment waiting for me to finish it.

Writing paper isn't an easy stuff, especially when u english is veli poor like me...

Today went to hospital to visit my friend who involved in an accident. The last time i step inside an ICU was when my dad was ill. I really don't want to step inside it again. He is quite badly injured, and i am very sad. 3 hours before the incident, he came to the research lab and find me for a short conversation. I was too busy that i hardly talk with him. Now feel so guilty...

I really dun want to experience such thing. Hope all my friends are safe and sound, hope my family are safe and healthy... *pray*

Lets pray hard that he is fine!!

COME ON, GET OUT OF BED AND START JUMPING AROUND LIKE U ALWAYS DO!!!

Merdeka Day

Ok, it is merdeka day. And it is time to talk about patriotisme.

I love my country...
I love the place is stayed...
I love the food...
I love the mountains, river and sea...
I love the air I breath (no when it is hazy)...
I love my friends around me...
And mostly, I love my family.

I hate those corrupted politicians...
I hate those who does not cherish the peace that we had...
I hate those who are racist...
I hate those lazy bums that do not contribute to the country...
I hate those who give my country a bad name...
I hate those who thinks M'sia is his property as should be for all Malaysians
And mostly, I hate those who destroy my country.

Skytrex

Even though no pictures describe the event, it was a nice one...

Skytrex are a group of obstacles constructed with cables, planks and ropes, between the trees in the forest. It required balancing and good upper body strength

Firstly, around 10am, we met up at school. Then we head of for bak kut teh as brunch. Again, malaysian timing still apply and some of our friends are late.

After brunch, went back to school to pick up some of the friends. In 3 cars, we headed to skytrex which is located at taman pertanian. GPS is a useful tool as it brough us there in 45 min.

Reaching there, paying our entrance fee, we went to get out cables and hooks. This sports might be bad for guys, as u might hurt ur balls.

After the safety briefing, the journey starts, climbing stairs is what i hated most as no excitement yet tiring. There are other obstacles like flying fox, bridge, monkey bar etc. And seriously, girls can do better as they are better in balancing. The whole journey lasted around 3 hours, as we need to wait for quite long.

It was happy that everyone can finish the route. No chicken out. It is meaningful as everyone has to face their problem themselves. No one can help u excepr yourself. But friends will be beside u to give u support

I lost my camera

If not because of this event, the blog entry I am typing now will be about skytrex.

I LOST MY CAMERA

I blame myself for my carelessness...
I blame myself for my laziness, for didn't able to copy out the photos and put in my lappy

This is the first time I lost such an expensive stuff
And i swear It would be my last one...

The camera accompany for almost 2 years. Although it is not a long duration, it helps me remember my memory, those fun one and happy one. Up to date, I had taken more than 2k pictures with it and more than 20 videos it it. Although its spec is not a high one, it is usable for me for simple functions

Disappointed

Yesterday, the Freescale trip was

Due to H1N1, the trip was cancelled. We were only informed during the 8am lecture on that day itself.

So disappointing...

The past few days

It had been another boring week but i swear, the coming weekend must be an interesting one.

Yet another week

Wow, another week had passed and luckily nothing much happen.

My brother was "quarantined" for the past week WITH ME as one of his friend suffered with H1N1. Don't worry, I am not quarantined but he is. (or maybe u guys worried cause I am a walking disease spreader). He just stay in the same room as me. Luckily nothing happened to him, so I guess I am fine. For the time being, at least.

Watched GI Joe on Monday and it was a nice one. When my friends was talking about it, and they said it was a childhood cartoon, I had no memory about what it is all about. Where had all my childhood memory gone? I wondered.

Finally, my project proceed to the last major part (there are still some minor parts in between, but i guess i can solve those in no time). Hope I can get it to be done in a couple of weeks.

This semester, I found it quite chill as the workload is relatively low, compared to the previous semesters. However, I still spend most of my time in the research lab. Doing research? Yup, research on FB if you counted that as one. =)

Harm 1 Next 1

Lately, not much updates as nothing interesting happen.

The past few days, busy with my FYP. Quite sad as the project didn't give a satisfied results to me. I just need to work hard, hoping that it will be better next week. The hardwork i put in is not proportion to what i got back. Disappointing indeed.

Planning to go for USA for work and travel after my final semester in university. Hope to see more stuff and learn more stuff. USA is a big and amazing country which i looking forward to see new stuff.

Last week, cases of H1N1 being heard around in school. Starting from Monday, one lecturer claimed that a student of hers infected with H1N1, news of students getting H1N1 become more and more rapid. Fortunately, no one was infected from those infected student in school so far. Most of them got infected by their outside friend.

Today, 1 out of the 6 schools was closed because one of the student was confirmed to infected the disease. I had cold sweat when i heard the news from my bro as it was his friend who was infected. Hope my bro is fine, and so to me.

Something I wanted to say is that, ppl who came back from the other country should quarantine themselves. I know it sounds selfish, but for the sack of the public, pls do so. H1N1 will harm one and find the next one. You doesn't want a school to shut down because of ur selfishness, right??

I forseen my uni will shut down soon, which i really hope it does not happen... By the way, lets remember to keep ourselves live in a hygenic environment.

M'sia vs ManU

Firstly, claim that I am not a hardcore ManU fans. I just want to experience watching a live football match in the stadium.

The past Saturday, went for M'sia vs ManU match. It was my first soccer match in a stadium, and the it was great.

The players are were warming out. Van der Sar was very friendlyFirst time in Bukit Jalil Stadium. And i was nice. Too bad, typical Malaysian behaviors causes rubbish around.

The match was exciting. It was a draw until the very last minutes. See those ManUians skill where always see on TV. Too bad they hardly tackle the Malaysian players. Heard that i was because of jet lag which cause them lack of sleep.

Holiday updates

My last school holiday is coming to the end and these are the stuff i did the past few days...

The past saturday, had gathering with some friends in Mid valley (refer FB for photos). although it had been quite a long time since that last meet up, we still know each other quite well. updated each other with our current situation and exchange information. then shopping with they girls. seems that shopping with girls aren't that bad after all. don't worry, i never felt is a bad thing at the first place. happy that everyone is happy and doing fine.

Today went to my life time first conference, the 1st ASQED. it is not really a very grand one but i was quite amaze by that how industry do their research which we, as a student, will not think of that way of doing things. it might be too technical to me, but i already learned a lot from the conference. hope that more conference are waithing for me, and if possible, i get to travel across the world. don't worry, conference are not only for acedemic purposes.

My next and last semester timetable is out today and it seems pretty fine to me. dun care whether i what time the class starts or ends as it makes no difference to me as i still need to work for my FYP from 9 to 5 everyday, if possible. Btw, results coming out tomorrow and wish me luck. I knew i had tried my best, thus no regrets.

Speaking of FYP, the things aren't going as i wished. Hope i manage to fix the problem asap so that i get to satisfied myself. I know, research work does not gurentee it will always work, but i at least need to do my best before convincing that it is not my fault.

Sick now and i was very quite ill. I looked tired and my supervisor keep asking me whether i am fine. I just have no courage to tell him that i am sick for some reasons. hope can get well soon.

Still holiday so far

I am still on holiday, but there is not much time for me to slack as i need to do my work for my FYP. However, I still spend some of my time to enjoy my last school holiday.

The past Saturday, went to Gua Tempurung with several friends. No photos received so far. But, it is a nice trip. I enjoyed this adventure a lot. The 4 hours of caving is fun and those big rocks, stalagmite etc are so amazing. Mother nature is the best craftsman. Every piece of arts amaze me a lot.

Since it is holiday, also spend some time watching movies and series. Perfect Cut 2 is quite a nice one. It is a Singapore drama which is about plastic surgery. It shows that what how a same case will have two different ways of seeing it. Guess most ppl will have the same way of thinking as Dr Soul, but Dr Win's way of thinking is another interesting way of thinking. It might not be accepted by most ppl, but it still have its logic behind it.

FYP is an "interesting" one. Hope i can finish everything my time.

WooHoo... ManU coming soon, and I will be going for the match =) Too bad, Ronaldo is not coming =(

Holiday starts, but nothing special

I am currently in JB but I would be back to Sunway tomorrow...

I had finish my exam on wed, but frankly speaking, i didn't enjoy much of the stuff. Mainly because I need to rush back to JB to settle some of the stuff and rush back to uni to continue my final year project.

Supposing wed shud go for sing K. But maybe because the subject was a tiring one, many of them claimed that they need to have rest, thus ffk. Ok, this i understand...

then, i wanted to watch Transformer, but seems will be alone. Never mind, wait till the dvd is out if i really can't someone to accompany me.

But nvr mind, set some goal for my short break. Will try to finish one book about arts/business...

Hope holiday will be enjoyable.

Last Paper

Less than 24 hours, I will be sitting in the exam hall doing my exam... Basically, I break my "food" processing process into several parts...

The next paper is around 5 days away, and hopefully i have more than enough time to prepare for my last paper. However, the are something that I need to do before I can do anything else:

Semester one end

finally, the long-winded-50-page report was submitted, which means my final year semester one ended.

this semester was a busy one, and not as happening as last year. But anyway, expected...

FYP in progress

After the crazy week last week, i approaching one of the most important week for my thesis project.

Next week, I will be having my progress presentation on monday. I hope i can impress my examiner by having a nice, relaxing but full of details presentation.

Stress

Started to feel the stress of the assignments given and this semester is CRAZY!!

In several days time, i will be having a test...
In few days time, i will be sitting in the lib studying until 11pm...
In one week time, i need to show my optical transmission system...
In one week + few days time, i will be giving presentation on my FYP progress...
In two weeks time, i will be submitting a 30 pages thick progress report...
In one month time, i will be sitting in the exam hall doing my final paper...

Then... break....

But 1st, lets appreciate the internet connection as optical communication is not easy...

当我在lab里赶着我的project时，我也用看了一部很不错的戏。

故事的开始已记得不大清楚了，但好像和三只青蛙有关。这三只青蛙其实很重要，但我就是不能记起。也许三只青蛙的“蛙格”一点没什么好说的吧。

接着故事发展到双胞胎的出生。叫什么大成的。哥儿们很像对彼此不大爽。闹到爷爷哪里去，又找外人评理。aiyah，故事很长... 一言难尽。

今天，那哥儿们带了各自的人，来表演马戏团。但其中一方声势较好大，还把团长搬出去，找了新的团长。新的团长，又没做功课，又没什么料，哭着找黑衣叔叔帮忙管理秩序，很逗趣，很可爱。

Movie week

These days, too free (or maybe too lazy), I "wondered" around the student internal sharing network and I found several very interesting movie. Of course this does not include those i watched in cinema.

Muriel's wedding
It is not the very 1st time i watched this movie. In fact, it was my MUFY theme study selected movie and i watched more than 3 times. However, everytime i watched the movie, I learned something new. Personal growth is always something i wanted to achieve in my life everyday, so that i can be a better person.

High School Musical 1,2 ,3
It is always so memorable when watching movies on high school. It was always so fun back in high school, with all friends and buddies around. It is also so sweet when watching romantic stories in school. I like musical film, but not bollywood style (no offence). The songs are so touching and i personally like "Everyday" in High School Musical 2. It was so sweet, energetic and memorable. Too bad, I sing like crow and dance like robot. Low self esteem~~ The leading actor in the movie is handsome and muscular, good in basketball, sing and dance well, and heard that good in studies as well. He has fame and money at such a young age with a very sweet girlfriend. Where got such perfect person??

Besides, musical film, I like scientific fictions. X-men is nice. I think i mentioned some in the previous post.

1st Post in May

Time flew and 1/3 or 2009 had passed. And now, i am officially in my favourite month of the year. Thinking back what i did for the last 4 months, it was not that bad after all.

Last week was not that busy but i still spend most of my time on my FYP. I tried to catogorise my project on one of the electrical engineering background but found it difficult. Said is electronic based, but i will not touch any electronics at all. Said is signal processing, i din apply any filters yet. Mostly by now, i am going some data mining job which i find it quite interesting so far.

Watched Wolverine yesterday and was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Didn't know that the name "Wolverine" is so meaningful. Hugh Jackman is as macho as always. Hope my friend dun fall too much in love with him. Hehe...

Today is labor day, and i had been slacking for the whole morning. Is irony when the day was called labor day, yet i am slacking around. Hope dun be a slacker like liping. Feel that i need to have a good rest after getting to bed so late and wake up so early for the passed few weeks. Well, better get something to do in the evening. Let's go laboring...

Anyone noticed i changed the theme song of my blog. I loved this song very very very^infinity much. Just to share to u guys. It is a song in one of the popular HK cantonese drama. SO touching, the song.

My FYP

This weekend, I am not that busy, but still got lots of stuff to do. The most interesting stuff to do is my final year project.

for so long, i wanted to write a long and nice MATLAB code. However, so far, non of my assignments make me feel satisfied with my desire.

Finally, my fyp requires me to use it. And i will be writing lots of M-files. OMG, can't wait to finish.

Hopefully by the end of the year, i will hate MATLAB, as how i hate chocolate =)

Busy Easter Break

This Easter break is my most busiest break that i ever have

having 1 assignment (report + presentation) , 2 test, 1 lab report and my project to work on, i time for it to get all done is not much. hope i can get all done in time.

Saturday went to see my friend's swimming competition in mmu cyberjaya. the school is a big and quite new one, and i like the school more, compare to the Malacca campus. however, i believe it is very quiet and that is why most of my friends stay in Malacca.

yesterday went to PC fair in KLCC and there were lots of ppl. jam from outside to inside, from morning tonight, could see how people gone crazy on PC related stuff. I bought myself a mp3 anyway, and i will take good care of it.

People do change

Today, from a friend, only I realised that these years I had change quite a lot.

I used to be someone who always keep everything in myself and making myself shut. Everyday, I had full of sadness behind my smile. However, since college, i spoke up my minds straight most of the time (of course not always). I will straight away tell you how i feel. maybe i will show it in a very obvious way to tell u that: I AM UNHAPPY.

ok, this might be not a good thing as might cause some misunderstanding sometimes. I will try my best to control my temper. However, i can say, these days my temper is much much better.

Trying to make myself always in a happy mood these days, and i found that I have quite a lot of improvement. Despite the stress that Mr Rigid gave me few weeks ago, I found that my mood isn't that bad. Although the school workload increases dramatically these few weeks, I am quite enjoying it, as i know that I am not alone. It is the company that counts.

Everytime I am quite down, happy that there is "someone" who i can tell my feelings to. I will type on it, many of my friends will come and left some comments about it. A short "cheer up" comments means a lot for me =)

It is YOU, my friends that keep me walking until today... I feel lucky to have a nice family and good friends around me. =)

Post April Fool entry

Finally found some mood to update my blog.

It was April fool yesterday and we managed to prank on a friend. He is a nice person, thus he won't be angry to us gua~~ Sorry, Jun Wei for playing with your water!!

Week 5 has almost ended and I am getting busier and busier. 2 test coming soon and one assignment awaiting to be submitted. This does not include my consistently-need-to-work-on-it FYP. However, i quite enjoy this semester so far.

After next week is my mid-sem break. Still considering whether going back JayBee for the break or not. Initially wanted to plan some trip with my friends, but, no news...

The sky is clear

Thanks to Mr Rigid, finally my FYP problem is solved.

Of course, during this period, i recieved quite some few advices from friends. Glad that I am not alone facing the problem alone.

I would like to point out how this problem affected me. This problem had caused me unable to sleep soundly at night and unable to concentrate in class for the past few days and had really affected my studies. I had gone through these unnecessary stress because of the rules and regulations set by someone without letting other people know about it. The communication breakdown has caused me and my friend the biggest victims of this incident as our FYP progress are badly delayed.

I am not trying to blame anyone in this incident and I am glad that this is all over.

Some might say that I need not fight so hard on this minor thing as it will not affect my future career at all. However, I felt that I am not being respect at all in this incident and I will fight for my rights. However, there are sometime I feel defected but I manage to climb up with some support. It is my education who I responsible to. Even my parents did not force me to do something which I don't like, what position is him in to force me?? In order to get something that I wanted, I had followed the procedures that are long and winded which now affected my FYP progress. These rules and prodecures is just trying to scare people away and I am glad that I manage to go through that with some helps. If now we don't make things right, the coming junior will be affected as well and unpleasant stuff will continue happen endlessly.

Week 2

After one week of chilling week, i started my really hectic schedule of my 7th semester in Monash.

Control is damn damn sien. The lecturer is a part time lecturer from UM and now i know what does people mean by traditional teaching method. I don't really like his style of teaching, but can't blame him. He don't know our university system and he was familiar to the old way. However, i can tell that he really try hard to make us understand.

FYP is the one stuff that make me wanted to say: ftw. It is not because the difficulty of the project. It is due to the f**king coordinator that allocate project to students with his "sophisticated algorithm". Everyone in my course want to break his computer hoping that the algorithm will die as the computer goes. However, my problem was solved now, thanks to my supervisor. She is indeed a nice person. Hope she really helps me. After flipping through the project relevant materials, i can say, signal processing is hard man!! 1D already quite a big problem, now I need to deal with 2D.

Optical communication is fun!! I love the subject. Hope I can say the same thing until I finish my final exam. You know, the devil on the other side is not easily pleased.

Profession practise is sien. I hate those stuff, but hope i can use it in the future :)

Yesterday the ManU vs Liverpool match was crazy. A big disgrace to ManU!!

First Week

This first week in uni is really my honeymoon week. Every unit started with easy materials and no labs, no tutes.

When i come back from, school, I will be facing my laptop watching numerous of movies, series and listen to many songs. Chilling around.

Having different types of sport games with my coursemate, and of course is fun. Going around for food and of course, Malaysia food is still the best.

For the coming weeks, my Mondays will be free as well. Means I only go for school 4 days a week. However, 3 out of 4 days I have 8am class. Although my mondays are off, I believe that I will spend my time mostly on research project.

First week... still chilling~~

Decision making...

Decision making is not an easy thing. Unless you are totally bored, and nothing to do, pls don't read the below stuff cause I am just trying to find somewhere to type what I am thinking...

These days, quite headache in choosing thesis and elective for my semester. I need to think thoroughly as I want my degree to be as variety as possible.

Thesis is quite an easy one to decide, cause the topic that the lecturer gave me is quite interesting. Besides, it is the area of expertise which i want to involve in and the most important: It is a novel research project. It will be one step further to what i always wanted. Initially, I would like to start a new blog to discuss more technical stuff if you are interested (I suppose not many people will), but due to NDA, I won't do so.I had to keep my mouth shut. Haha~

For the elective one, it is a headache. There are pros and cons in choosing between both subject. One is optical communication and one is telecommunication protocol. The previous one is more advanced while the later is to the technologies these days.

Besides depending on how to make my degree more variety (ie, I hope I have equal knowledge on telecommunication, control, power, electronics and computer system), I need to consider the lecturer, the work load, the resources, the way the course is presented. The difficulty of the course will only be a small part in my consideration. Not that I am trying to say I am smart, just that I believe it will be fine if I willing to work hard. If some of my friends can overload, why can't I study one difficult one?

After considering, I had finally made up my mind.

School Reopen

I had been two days after my school had reopened. Basically, we are still in our holiday mode.

Despite there is no labs and tutes, the material covered in lecture is not that much. Thus, we still enjoy our final year....

But, i think the nightmare will start tomorrow, cause... Final Year Project briefing is on tomorrow.

By that time, everyone will try to compete to get the easiest and interesting topic, or maybe select the most helpful supervisor.

After that, everyone will busy doing their projects and do assignment...

Back for Final Year

After a long break of 4 months, finally, I am back to Sunway to continue for my study. It will be my final year and I will finish my course in around 9 months time.



It is a Sunday morning, and I am sitting in the foyer onlining. Can't online in my room as it requires 3 working day to manage my online application. Unlike in Aus, it just require 1 hour to do so.



Started to feel that my final year will be the most sien year in my 4 years in Monash. Hopefully my final year project can keep me busy for most of the time. Can't wait to get start with it.



Can't wait to see my friends tomorrow after around one year didn't have class here. However, my class starts at 8am tomorrow. Can i manage to wake up??

Singapore Trip

Today went to Singapore. Adventure, I will call cause I need to go through the new custom building, take MRT to Orchard Road, and come back from Singapore, all alone!!

Ok, it is not a big deal for some of you, but at least I am please that I manage to do it. Applause to me...

Went to Singapore, despite making my holiday more colorful, I went to find my aussie friend, Carmen there. Manage to find Lyn Ley, Beng and Nick, and now is Carmen. She is still the same pattern, except the fact that she looks skinny now.

The new custom is quite a beutiful building. However, I dare not estimate the amount of money they used to build the building as I am not good in estimate the value of such big and nice government building. The only thing I wanted to complain is that it is like a level one maze with lots of walking. My leg is aching now (other reasons see beneath)

Wait for 3 hours for her (Yeah, 3!! Dunno how many times I walk along the orchard road), she finally arrived. Can't blame her for the long wait, cause there are some miscommunicating between us. But anyway, she brought me to Vivocity after meeting up at Orchard. I like Vivocity very much and I rated it as the best shopping mall that I ever went in Singapore so far. Although raining, the trip is still quite nice.

Around 6, I need to take the MRT and bus back. You know la~~ 6pm la~~ a lot of people la~~ have to stand in MRT and bus la~~ Then need to walk the maze-like building back to JB.

Nice trip and hope other aussie friends that I didn't manage to meet have a nice new year in Uni~~

PS: the curry chicken rice that I ate for lunch really sucks. This is the first time i so hate curry so much. Irony, there is a cert writing: Best voted number 2. So dissapointing

Nice Penang and Ipoh Trip

Just come back from KL, and the 5 days trips are so fun.

The passed two days, went to Ipoh and Penang with my friends. These two places are well-known for its food and the food i tried are: A-W-E-S-O-M-E. The only strange part for me is that I had ais kacang as breakfast.

Thanks Evone for bringing us around at Ipoh. The hor fun is great, and is the best that I tried so far. Thanks Nick for booking the nice accommodation and thanks Beng for bringing us to the end of The End of the World. But i like the char kueh tiao the most!

Thanks Jun Wei for driving me around and thanks Whei Jin for keeping Jun Wei awake during the journey. However, it is quite dangerous leh~~ Thanks June to go through the dangerous moments when both the fronts seat people are fighting!! haha... We had lots of fun in the car~~

Thanks for organise this trip and I look forward to see you guys again!! School reopen in one week time, and my holidays left are number... Penang has quite a nice trip and of course, the great accompany provided by you guys that make my holiday being colored before school reopen.

chilling in KL

these days, I came to KL. Besides moving my stuff to my going-to-be accommodation, I also meet up some friends.

The day i arrived KL, met up some aussie friends. Having chat at curve and is quite enjoyable, cause as last time, we got endless stuff to chat on.

Yesterday was quite a bomb. From singing K (i know, i still sing like crow. people started to make fun of me. haha... but i quite long time didn't sing edy mah~~), playing bowling (didn't play, cause sprain my wrist) and having dinner, I enjoyed it very much.

Today~~ nothing to do. Just chilling around la~~

It really require some mood to type a blog entry. After so many days didn't really type a proper blog about my life, today finally "squeeze" out some mood to type this blog entry...

After 10 weeks of working, finally end my working life. I can said that this is much a happier working experience than my last job, however, as always, I won't have any feeling about it. Not even a bit sad. Cold blood indeed.

Anyway, today is quite a fine and easy-going day. Online and chat, finish my very last bit of report, manager give me a treat in Secret Recipe, a very rare occasion i treat the colleagues some tidbits, played several minesweeper games... Easy!!

As always, 天下无不散之宴席, hope I can keep on walking down the remaining life, not alone of course...

After intern, in 2 weeks time i will start my school. Of course, I have lots of plan to carry out. Thinking about those stuff that I need to do makes me lost. Hope someone can do all the stuff with me. Pray!!

Tomorrow, I think i will accompany my "lou po" at home, and be a 宅男. MSN, FB, PPS will be my best mate...

变天行动

有谁会想到一个连预告片都没有的《变天行动》竟然在大年初一在霹雳州来抢贺岁片的摊呢？霹雳州人民，用308的选票，换来了这张戏票。

看了某人的评论去看了周星驰的《审死官》。这部戏是我最喜欢的电影之一。当中提到：贪官奸，清官就要比他们更奸。清官如果要捉贪官，一定要比贪官更狠。这就是为什么Lah伯想肃贪但也无能为力。

N先生比他硬了许多。这部《变天行动》，从一手策划，到找人演出都可见他又导又演的天分，不愧是大马的未来领袖。尤其是那场记者会上的戏，说了那么多虚伪的话，也不会脸红和心虚，叫我佩服佩服。找来的4名演员喜剧天分更佳，说了那么多谎话，但那么容易就知道在说谎，不知道是在考大家的智力还是旨在博君一笑。

许姐的角色更是吃重。英哥就称他为吴三桂。许姐在这场戏中扮演压死骆驼的最后一根稻草。人们（尤其是华人），都在讨论他的角色呢！陈某对许姐戏里的角色有些意见。陈某认为，党怎么辜负你，也不要辜负人民。一时之错把人民的信任出卖了，到头来人们还不是把你当千古罪人。要做独立，就真正独立吧！

这戏里更是戏中有戏。穿插了大家熟悉的《无间道》。只能说如有雷同，纯属巧合。当然他跳来跳去的做法和许姐的角色一样，背叛人民的信任，但他的批评比许姐的少了很多。谁叫人们心中都有两把尺呢？

可以看到B阵为了权利不惜一切。谁能保证N先生不会用更硬的手段来保证B阵在来届全国大选中继续执政呢？毕竟Lah伯比较温和而才有《308》的上映。如果要换政府，还是大家还是小心为妙。记住，安居要思危。

PS: 我好像被“强奸”了！是“青蛙”干的！

Holiday Over

Here, I reluctantly announced that my Chinese New Year holiday is over and I will be starting my "hectic" working schedule tomorrow.

This CNY is fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Despite realising that the needle of my weighting scale goes up A LITTLE BIT when i step on it, i enjoyed every moment.

Everytime, I have something which I can't think of, I like to find someone to ask for opinion. And I found the person i like to ask opinion with is Mr Titus. He is one of the wise guys that i meet and he is quite an optimistic person. Chatting with him will hint me on my problems. Of course, Jun Wei is also one person cause always kena zha by me. :p

Ok, 2 more weeks for intern and exactly 4 more weeks before my school holidays end. I swear, I will appreciate every moment of my last year.

Taurus in the Ox Year

It is Chinese New Year again, and as usual, busy always.

Lunar New Year Eve:
Reunion Dinner

1st day of CNY:
Go temple

2nd day of CNY:
helping in my mother's father's (Grandpa's) house open

3rd day of CNY:
House hopping with friends

4th day of CNY:
pray for my father's father's (Grandpa's) death anniversary

5th day of CNY:
finally get some rest

Every year, the schedule is almost the same. As I am getting older and older, i don't looking forward CNY as i do when I was a kid. When i was a kid, cny is a time where we can eat lots of goodies and collecting angpows. However, now it is finally some time where we can get some good rest.

In the Ox year, hope that I can control my emotion well. Don't be as stubborn as an ox. But hope that I am as hardworking as, as determine as an ox.

When going to temple, normally the nun will give some words to me as an advice. Different from the past few years, I want some advice on something specific this year (for the past few year, I just receive the advice without any thoughs) and in return, this is my answer:

What a coincidence!!

Details on how the advices are given:

People in the temple will put some pre-printed advices in red packets. All the advices are different. And one by one, we will go out to recieve the red packet from the nun. In other words, these advices are quite randomly given to everyone.

Last year, my advice was quite random as I don't know what it means. A teacher told me that, if you have a question in your heart, this advice is a guide to you. Now, I have some thoughts in my mind, and this is quite a nice guidance to me. I keep on thinking of which choice should I made in my life. It is just like the Road Not Taken which we learned in Form 4. I am now in a situation which I need to make choices in life and I was asking around, hope that I can get a certain answer. But, seems that there is no certain answer for such choices. It really depends on me. Both routes seems nice to me, but I don't know which to choose. Although this advice does not tell me which route should I take, it told me what attitude should I have when making choices.

Doer and Dreamer

Today scan through web, found that someone at my age already has his own business and started earning money. He is actually my friend and his success doesn't amaze me.

Everytime, he will talk about business to us. But that is just on theory. He has good social skills which I never doubt. Besides, his family is so different from the families i know. His father, mother, sis and bro are so cool.

Now, he is different. Those business theory he learned, he applied. He is a doer. He had achieved great success. Maybe in the process he got some problems which i doesn't know, but he still achieve good success. He even giving talks about his success.


Suddenly realised how much time i have wasted. Better plan my own future now... Thanks for all the advices I recieved. From all friends and family. Thanks a lot. I don't want to be just a dreamer.

One week had passed again.

4 weeks to end my internship,
3 weeks of working days (minus off one week of cny leaves),
2 weeks of working period after back from cny
1 week away from cny

time flies...

I am going back to uni in one and a half months time. I was planning for my future, but yet still dunno how it is. Guess, have to see the coming one year, what will happen to the world, my country and to me...

Today, initially planned to go singapore to find carmen, kai rim and evone. However, too late to contact carmen and the whole plan was blown. Perhaps after cny gua. Anyone willing to go with me at that time?

It is Monday

Again, today is Monday. However, i find it quite enjoyable today.

Today, my supervisor engineer taught me a lot about my electrical field. It is not something u can tell someone after u read a book or something. Experience is the word. I was so amazed with the experiences and knowledge of his.

Remember I told you I went for white water rafting in Cairns? Today, finally i got the photos from Sing Ping. I think the part where we dive into the river to float to the river bank is something crazy but fun I did last year.

I think I lack of this very much. I get angry and impatience easily which is very different from whom I used to be. Thus, I must increase the amount of patience in me this year. Besides, I really need to consider my future now as I am now one year away from the social university.

2009 will be a good year. I hope.
