8am
Woke up at 8am that day. Frankly speaking, i dunno why i woke up that early cause i promised my friend to meet them up at 9.30am. However, the first thought when i woke up was, "where is my toolbox?". Immediately, i called Justin to ask whether was with him. Shit! The moment he said NO, i knew my group had lost a toolbox.
What so special of that toolbox? It keeps my screwdriver, blade and also the wire stripper that Justin likes very much. That's not all. We put our tamiya car inside that will help us survive through the semester for ECE3091 and helps us to get good marks in the unit. Of course, our built device must work. The most important is that we put the Miniboard designed by our lecturer, Dr Price which is only available through this unit. You can't find it on market but it was kindly lend to us. If you lost it, you need to pay U$150 for a bigger one which can't guarantee anything. Imagine how dailok it is if i lost the board.
9am
Justin and i were in school searching for the missing toolbox. Initially, i was quite relaxing cause i thought that i can easily get back the toolbox. It was either in the open lab or in the EH3 where we had our EM practical class the day before it. However, i started to feel the stress when i found that the toolbox was not in either the mentioned location. I started to recall where on earth i placed the toolbox. I seek for help from the lab assistant and he was kind to help me to check the cctv who actually took my toolbox. Thanks to the lab assistant and i prayed for good news from him.
However, we went around to search for the missing toolbox. We went to the student service centre, we went to the lost and found office and the security. Try to go for the cleaners which we suspect that they might found it when cleaning the EH3.
9.30am
As planned, we headed to the Jaycar to buy components for our project devices. I met up with jun wei and told him what actually happened but we still need to get out devices. However, i was in bad mood that i started to blame myself for losing the toolbox. Jun Wei tried to console me but i knew how stubborn i am. The day before, it was me who egoly bring the toolbox everywhere. It was me who loss the toolbox. It was me!
12.30pm
OMG! i received an email from the lab assistant saying that through cctv, it was actually me bringing the toolbox out of the lab. Means that i lost the toolbox in EH3. I kept going to the security the ask whether there is a lost toolbox but the answer always disappointed me. I started to curse those who stole my toolbox if someone really stolen it.
2-6pm
Having power and EM class. However, i was down. Keep thinking of the toolbox. After class, went to the security again. Answer from them: NO again.
8pm
No choice but keep on waiting until the next day. Luckily justin and jun wei were with me. However, i still can't stop blaming myself. Careless me~ Discussed with jun wei, we decided to go to the security again next morning to try our luck.
25 July 2008
9am
Jun wei and I went to the security to ask for news. NO! However, we asked where is the cleaner office and get to know where to find.
9.15am
Went to the cleaner office, we talked with the cleaners' supervisor. He said that they didn't find any toolbox and claimed that if they found anything, they will send to the security. He said that chances were slim to find back the toolbox. Started to lose hope~ However, i still leave my contact number with him, in case anything was found.
9.22am
"We may have found your toolbox, come back to find me," said the cleaner supervisor. Light shines. Apparently, the supervisor called the cleaner on duty that day cleaning up EH3 and asked if he/she found a toolbox. The cleaner claimed that he/she found one and sent to the student service centre. RUN!
9.35am
"A cleaner claimed that a lost toolbox was sent here yesterday. Is it?"
"Yeah. You are lucky that 30 more minutes later, we will send to XXX. How it looks like?"
Dramatically, we found back the toolbox. Even before power lab.
Moral of story:
Don't be careless especially with something that important. Thanks Jun Wei and Justin for not blaming me through the hunt. Thanks a lot.
